I'm new to this. I have a spring fed pond that has a constant run off. I can get 13' of head w/100-150 gpm. I thought building a banki turbine was the only way to go until reading some of your postings. Suggestions?

For home build a Banki is probably your best option. You are well within range of a Turgo or even a Pelton with the modern low speed alternators with neo magnets. you don't have enough flow for a reaction turbine to be a realistic proposition although a simple propeller turbine might work if you can keep all the muck out of it.

Unless you have good engineering facilities or are prepared to buy a rotor i think the Banki is your best option.

I hope to own a home with a hydro site someday. Unlikely, but...

Banki is a proven generator with your conditions, certainly the first option for consideration. Also very low up-front cost.

If you are willing to build a small pond and flume, with a 7'-10' drop tube, a Kaplan may be viable.
