The world may still be flat?
What would you think would occure if in the distant future, meaning, tomorrow, some little snot nose kid comes up with an idea that could change the world with a new way of looking at alternative energy and was justly proven right, will the oil companies try to kill him even after the application was spread worldwide, would those that believe in solar, tidal, wind, etc.. feel threatened that this snot nose kid beat them at their own game might also wish to doom him in his works , even though it was proven without a doubt that it will work better than what they had invested so much money in?
