« on: March 16, 2008, 02:20:54 PM »
hi sorry to post again but was wondering if it is possible to run water pumps by solar to run a hydro system for power for my home my thought is i can move water fast with solar in controled area then either put in turbines or have it fall to a hydro system to maybe create more power than i could with just a solar panel sounds weird but im  wanting to try this wonder about others input before i dive in thanks

TomW will probably lock this out, as you should have put it in the original posting.  It won't work.  You are talking overunity, which doesn't happen.  All pumps, turbines, motors operate at less than 100% efficiency.  That means you will lose some of the energy at each step as you move the water to a higher level and run it back down through a turbine.  Forget it.  Buy batteries.
