What the heck is with the posts going missing?
« on: February 04, 2010, 05:08:26 PM »
Several times this week I have typed up a paragraph or two to post and did all the normal pre post head patting and tummy rubbing only to post and have it go out into the ether and show up no where after about the third time it is very frustrating.

Another thing. Every time I come back to this site, I have to log in. Never had to before 2 days ago.

all i can tell you is when you make a post make absolutely sure you get the thank you for posting confirmation page before you navigate away if you do not get that page then your post did not go through and you need to fix it. that is your best chance of making sure your posts make it on to the board if you are getting the confirmation page and your posts are still not making it onto the board with no signs of them being posted then that is above an editors ability to fix you will have to talk to admin.

I always copy my post to the clipboard, then check if it is posted. Saves a lot of typing that way.

I don't claim to be an electrical engineer. I just know enough to keep from getting electrocuted.

Yeah - I can relate to this. I posted - or tried to - making a 'diary' entry - which didn't show up after two or three days.

So, I reposted to what I thought was going to be the 'light' section. For some reason, it did get posted... to the 'newbies' section, where no one sees it.

Go figure. Not sure what is going on, and am not sure if it is worth the time to attempt to make good posts here.

Regards,

what pretty much gets me in trouble is the 50 word subject line limit.

if i am distracted i miss that and "no post" then i breeze past the warning

only to find my post is gone.

i need to either clipboard my work, or be more careful

funny how it seems like it is always the post you have the most work into

that fails to post.
