Trash Or Treasures?
« on: February 04, 2007, 02:58:08 AM »
I picked up 5 motors.

  1. -120 volt ac induction. one has starting coils (6)one does not.  both are 1075 RPM's 1/2 hp 6.7 amp they, will be generators soon.
  2. - are 32 volt DC brush type 1725 amps?? The plate is damaged. I think they are about 1/4 hp maybe 1/3. haven't opened them yet.

The last is a mystery, This is the plate.

Perm Mag DC Motor.

Model Mlo-1 Class B insulation.

CW rotation. Open case.

Electric rating @ 90 volts DC. FF 1.0 Acm

Input 4 HP Treadmill duty 5200 20 amps

Dyaco int't inc.

Mag field.

no.76.lane171 sec 1 shen Rd.

ser# 0100808 Taiwan  Roc.

Havent opened this one either.

It weights about 20 lbs 8 Kgs and 12" 300mms from tip to tip (Dual shaft)with a fly wheel on the drive end. It is a brush type motor with 2 leads. No pictures yet. Is it worth persueing?.

Thanks

Ron.

Im guessing 1725rpm, that kind of current would be, er, stupid, to say the least.

The permanent magnet motor should be pretty good. Search for 'treadmill motor' to find out more. It seems pretty large for a treadmill motor, most are around 2.5hp. Most have bushings not bearings so they dont last for too long, although they are good for a starter system.

The 120VAC 1075RPM motors sound good.

The 32V may or may not be OK (but not great), depending on if it contains magnets. The blades will need to be short and fast.  The low power rating may keep the blades from stalling.  If it works the output will be low.  My luck has not been good.

The treadmill motor sounds too high speed to me.  12V cutin around 700RPMs, maybe more.

(12V / 90V = 0.1333   0.1333 x 5200RPM = 700RPM before 12V is reached)

Worst case, remove the coils (copper prices are crazy high), take them to the scrap dealer, use the money to buy neo magnets for the 120V 1075RPM motors.

Hi all

This monster is "big" and heavy and Real bearings.

The day light helps And a mag glass.

32 volts 1725 Rpms. Amps unknown.

Manufactured by Windcharger USA. (Must be a oldie)

Another one that was in the bottom of the box was

a 120 volt dc brush type 1725 RPM no amps listed

this one was in pices, Nothing seems to be burnt.

  1. volts
  2. rpm

windcharger USA

In the pre R.E.A. era wind charger built windmill's

{electric]and gas powerplant's in 32 volt's.

1725 rpm tell's me it is more than likely a

power head for a 32 volt gas powerplant.
