Snake oil salesmen or not
« on: February 16, 2007, 01:35:25 AM »
http://fuellesspower.com/15_Inverters.htm Are they for real or just snake oil salesmen.

Seems what they're doing is selling patents and plans because there is some legal difficulty with someone making these gadgets for sale. Can't find a single video even demonstrating an engine moving or steam rising from water thrown on a heater... simple things that could be done to make it easier to trust and place an order.

What do you think

Run AWAY!

Quote from site referenced:

"Build 2 units to run your entire home!   Then use a free energy DC generating device to keep your battery bank charged  up and your system running smooth! ( It is best to use a deep cycle marine battery ),  The same batteries that are used in   Solar panel home electrical systems. You can buy these batteries at most K-mart stores, Wal-mart stores, or any RV or marine boat supply store.."

Be nice guys, when I mention someone's ideas are .... ignorant .. or maybe STOOPID, I get called down for discouraging folks.

These guys are only fleecing the public. Those of us who try to keep folks from fleecing themselves seem to get 'pissed on'.

Just so you don't think the previous 3 posters are over reacting:

The reason they give for no photos due to "patents" is pure and utter bull $#|+e. You can build any patented device for your own use.

Any time you or your goods are in public view, anyone can take all the pictures of you and your stuff they want. By being in public you give away the right to privacy while in public view.

The reason is because nobody has ever built one that works as advertised because it violates so many accepted physical laws it is just about as close to unworkable as possible.

You would be buying a large load of bull$hit at an exorbitant price. I can find you pretty much all of that you want, free for the hauling. It tends to build up around this area in winter with cattle confined in smaller areas for winter. I know for a fact that a great big pile of manure can generate heat. Just look at Washington,DC.

Run, fast, do not look back.

For your own good.

Cheers.

P.S. We really need a "products" section for reviews so these type scams can be archived so this doesn't continually resurface giving the sites link references that drive online search engines. Tricky stuff.

Out.

Aside from that whole bit about using the "free energy" generator to keep the battery charged, that inverter of theirs looks like it was built out of an old 486 computer case.

Having said that, inverters are fairly simple to build in just about any size you want.  (Of course, a 5Kw inverter hooked up to 1 marine battery would run roughly 30 seconds).  I could show you how to build an inverter fairly quickly out of an old buzzer (or DPDT DC relay) and a doorbell transformer, but it won't be useful for much.  You could also build a nice solid-state inverter for running your lights out of old radio parts (but it is easier to just spend $5 at walmart and break apart one of their low voltage CFLs).

The real trick is to build an inverter that will take a marine battery input and output a 60Hz sine wave (not a square wave, not a modified sine wave, and not a 400Hz wave).  That's why most folks here buy their inverters from well known commercial sources

Tom, you are correct as usual.  If all this stuff is patent-pending, let's get this place to give us the application numbers.  Then we can log onto the Patent Office web site, print out their stuff, and start building.

They do seem to have a nice selection of "overbalanced wheels"... :)

Next on the B.S. list can be edenpure cured copper electric heaters.

Their claims are less crazy than before, but still crazy.

I seem to be on their mailing list.  Maybe everyone is?

to get 5000 watts from a 12 volt battery without losses, you need to pull 417 amps from the battery.
