Garbogen or AC motor?
« on: July 15, 2007, 12:44:04 AM »
Hello, I am new to this forum and wind energy.  I have become addicted to the internet searching and learning as much as I can.  I am overwhelmed with the amount of information out there.  I want to make my own wind turbine and I beleive I have narrowed it down to either making a Garbogen or converting an AC induction motor.  I am mechanically skilled but I lack in the electronics area.  I do not think I want to rewire a motor so I would use the existing windings. If anyone is willing to share their exerience and hopefully pictures of their Garbogen or converting an AC motor I would really appreciate it.  I have emailed Jerry regarding the Garbogen and he is willing to help but he is very busy at this time.

Thanks in advance

Sorry Otto.

My wife and I own and operate a retail car stereo store.

On July 6th at 8:00 pm we were called at home and informed that our store was onfire.

We oppened our retail store in 86. This has been a major life change and challange.

This event has hit us very hard a things are very disrupted at the moment.

I hope you and the rest of the OP group will  hang in there till we can get our feet back on the ground.

Getting kicked by a muel seems rather mild to what we've been going through.

But you know the old saying.

                         "I'll Be Back"

I just don't know when.

Jerry;

Damn, sorry to hear that.

If you get a minute maybe you can post a diary and tell us about it.

Hope it works out as well as possible.

Cheers.
