Why put your information there and not on your own web page?
Because they try to put their content in the OLPC offline library. This means that some million children may read your information, even when they have no or very bad internet connection. This may enable some of the children and their parents to do something similar to what you have done and get a better life.
Please remember that they probably have only access to basic tools and are constrained by the range materials that they can use because of cost and availability.
