flux linkage

With a dual flux rotor the metal plates enhance the flux linkage.  If one ignores the extra work involved, wouldn't adding an iron core to the coils further strengthen the linkage?



With a motor like the F&P, is there iron behind the magnets on the rotor?

Yes is the simple answer, but it is not the whole storey.
