how much is a used 60 watt solar panel worth?

Hello everyone. I found someone willing to sell me their old/ not need 60 watt solar panels. They have no idea what the current is on them except that they are 12 volt. How much would you pay for 3 of them? I am trying to get a good deal since my budget is only $350 a month.

You really need to provde a LOT more information. Manufacturer, age, etc. A lot of variables to "60 watt 12 volt solar panel"

I never pay more than 1/3 of new price for anything second hand, and solar panels are not on my second hand list having done that once.

You need to look for discolouration of the cells, which is an indication of overheating. Too many other variables and in my opinion not an item to be purchased second hand.

Yes, look for strange coloring on some cells.  Kind of yellowish edges or corners is bad.

Used 60W don't sound like thin-film (or amorphous). I wounldn't take them for free if they are thin-film.

Make sure the person taking them down understands they will need put back up.

I have seen potted wires cut off right at the potting, unusual screws thrown away, and wires yanked from the boxes.

Even boxes ripped off panels...

Ok here are the details on the panels, they have no cracks or discolouration.

Turns out they have never been used, still in orignal boxes. I think $350 was a good deal.

well just got them the 2 look almost brand new just a thick layer of dust. the other looks like it might have been dropped because the one side railing is loose/ deformed, but for $360 $10 for gas for the guy they will work great.

@Ghurd, I liked the story about the panels being taken off the roof, amazing what some pepole will do.
