newbie my stupid question
« on: May 27, 2008, 05:52:07 PM »
i have read  a lot on the discussion board about 2 stator three rotor combo and understand the set backs with this design  butt what if the rotors were 1/2 inch steal and it was lets say left rotor 1/2 inch steal 1/2 inch mags 1/2 stator  1/2 inch mag 1/2 steal then another 1/2 inch mag  1/2 inch stator 1/2 inch mag 1/2 inch steal so the center rotor has 1/2 inch mags on both sides of the rotor how would this play on the flux field and the magnets on both sides of the center rotor say split the field equally ?

It is just not an efficient way to use more magnets. If you double up on stators you just have 2 machines and twice power.

If you throw all the magnets on a bigger dual rotor you have the potential for 4 times the power.

If you must do it , it will work but I just can't see the point. Many things fit that category so you are not alone.

so 24 mag rotor and 18 coil stator  would give the potential of 4 times  the power size was my biggest concern thats one huge pmg  thanks for your reply
