i have a 90volt motor 1800 rpms if i use it for a wind mill how can i drop the out put voltage to 12vdc when the motor will put out from 0 to 90vdc. any help greatly appreciated. ktm958@msn.com

When you hook it up to a battery the battery will clamp the voltage to that of the battery until it is fully charged then you will need a dump load and controller to keep the battery from "overfilling". I doubt that you will run at 1800 rpm, more likely about 1/4th of that speed (450 rpm) which will give you about 22.5vdc open circuit. Should be good for a 12v system.
