Im thinking of buying this motor its a Doerr and apparently they are nolonger around so I'm haveing some trouble finding information about this motor. Could this be a permanant magnetic motor its 1 hp (750watt) type P? rpm 1725 3 phase volt 220/440 I thought this motor might make an easy wind generator? Any idea about the type would be apprecited thank you

I seriously doubt it is PM.
Fixed RPM of 1725, 3-ph, and 220/440, make it sound like a regular motor.

No way, it is a 4 pole induction motor and you will need to fit magnets as in any motor conversion. No easy option there at a bargain price.

thanks Ive been looking around at different threds here and ive learned that there is a relationship between rpms and the number of poles so I'll keep looking for a better motor maybe an ac servo motor with low rpms and higher wattage would be a good choice?
