Phun Physics Project?

I am an AP physics teacher. I would like to build a 10' Diameter Homebrew in class with help from woodshop students and a local welder. I was hoping to power at least the lights in the room and study the collected data. The school initially liked the idea, but does NOT like the aesthetics of guy wires. Can any suggest a monopole design or commercially made one that could hold the 10 footer?

The Skystream 3.7 has a 12' swept area and uses a monopole tower. Only about 34 feet tall though.

Maybe a pedal powered axial flux alternator might get a better response from the school?

You can still learn a huge amount from building one of the alternators, a few have tried it here on fieldlines.

Also:

As a detention duty, rather than scribbling 'lines' on a blackboard the punishment may be 30 minutes power generation on a pedal generator - that would deter me from misbehaving again, and give you some power into a battery bank.

Since we have no idea of where your project is .... I would suggest contacting a local tower manufacturing company and explain your delirium ... oops ... problem. Local sign shops probably have 'canned solutions' for signs.
