flux windings in stator
« on: May 09, 2009, 11:31:29 PM »
i could not delete this image i uploaded, so i ask:

here at the back of stator main windings are additional windings that would influence the flux from rotor poles. these vertical bars in the stator are not conductive.

i barely grasp or do not grasp at all what would happen.

the idea is to wind these back-windings so, that when pole approaches to it an attractive magnetic field is created.

possible effects:

  1. increased peak flux around main windings
  2. increased torque?
  3. changed rpm/output formula
  4. more and thicker wire.
  5. because of increasingly changing flux the iron back of rotor is in question?

..

is that discussable or a complete fiasco?
