rewinding armature successful
« on: October 24, 2009, 08:53:09 AM »
hi friends, last week i submitted a posting on rewinding armature.thanks for your help.

in fact i rewound the armature and its was great fun and experience.

the motor specifications with the original armature was as follows

120 vdc,6750rpm,2magnets,18.5 amps

when i first tested the motor,i was getting only 3 volts per 150rpm with the original windings

the number of turns was 15 and i increased it to 40 with thinner wire (wire size is like that of ametek 30vdc)

with the new windings,i had a maximum of 19vdc handspin.but i havent tested for amps coz my ampmeter is broken.hope it will give about 5 amps..

it gives 8vdc at 150rpm

howp it performs well as a wind turbine

hi friends,i am sorry,i  am not able to insert a photo.i have been trying to do that from yesterday, anyways,i just want to thanks you friends for having helped and advise me.special thanks to HIKER......

as soon as i will get some photo on the power output,i will post them with the new windings too

in fact,i am so happy coz i have always thought that it was a difficult task but after doing it,i have seen that it its a very easy task but time consuming and there is a need of some precision and records.

i personally advise all friends rewind their motor which they think is not good for wind turbine.

just try that, its a great experience and satisfaction guaranteed
