I usually don't think of hurricanes in the winter, but my friends at work said that the most recent northeast strom that blew through was the equivalent of a category 2 hurricane. Although I did not get the center of circulation, the winds were still fierce. I recorded a peak power of 2300 watts OUT on my inverter. This is less than the actual power IN.
I have to say the tower and turbine survived without any problem. The only casualty was my shunt controller blowing an IGBT, which I think had to do with the shunt going active while connect to the grid. I have to work on this.
