Favorable Slot Pole Combinations
« on: March 01, 2010, 12:04:10 PM »
Aside from 6 Poles / 9 slots what are other favorable combinations that do not require fractional winding... Any type of equation I can work with to come up with a correct picture?

I really have no idea what you are wanting to do. There are books about that cover machine winding for motors and conventional generators.

6 pole 9 slots wouldn't come into any normal category for commercial machines but it would work.

There are many combinations that can work for any even pole number but the type of machines considered here are far removed from commercial practice. I don't know whether you are looking at iron cored machines or not but few commercial cores have less than 24 slots. Until you get up to 12 pole or above they have several coils per pole/phase in normal motors.
