coils wire size

another dumb question........... whats the difference between acoil of wire with a leg 3/4"wide as opposed to a solid piece of copper3/4"wide  say 7/16" thick its the same amount of space being used but the solid copper would have more mass there by more electron flow.......more power ..........not trying to tick any body off just trying to understand

Each pass of a length of wire through the moving magnetic field in a generator will produce maybe 0.5 volts (for example).  By having 100 turns of smaller wire in a loop they are effectively connected in series and give you 50 volts (in this example).  One turn of really big wire like you describe would be like taking a flashlight made for 4 AA batteries and replacing them all with 1 D cell.

There are other issues with eddy currents but this is the most important issue.
