Sizing of large images
« on: August 23, 2003, 10:59:31 AM »
This is a very large photo that will take a while to download. But now it should be sized to 80% so it does not mess up your onscreen format of the board.

It's still better to reduce image size before sending it up to the server; that way the page downloads to users faster, and you can fit more photos in your file space on our servers.

[editor's note, by ADMIN]This is the third try -- changed some syntax in the code that generates the image tag.

Dan;

Neat save me some editing keystrokes. Is this enabled in comments too?

Oh I'll just try it and see. It works for stuff stored here as its added by the insert photo thing but external stuff still goes full size. Maybe I just need a 48" monitor?

I see you have the little thief in jail too!

Cheers.

Yes looks like it's working for comments too.

But nothing we can do about images from external servers -- my "fix" for the problem only works using the "insert image" javascript from this Scoop board.

It didn't show the figures right.

I'll try again:

Hmmmmm....it's the correct size on my 1024v768 screen running Mozilla. I'll run some test with other browsers today...

I see what you mean, y'all. I just tried it in Netscape and it's still huge. It's correct in both Mozilla and IE. Heading over to Google right now for some browser compatibility research.

It's huge on mine too, took almost fifteen minutes to download(I'm way out in the country on a dial up line, lots of noise. Though not as far out as the Dans.....), and still used far more room than I've got on a 17 inch monitor. I'm using IE 5.0. I'm blaming Microsoft.
