It's been a while since I posted.
To the Dan's.. Great stuff. Very Kewl Seminar in WI (When are ya coming to Alberta to do one of those..??) - I'll buy the Beer.!
Anyway, I think it goes to show that there are a lot more people interested in this overall subject than the 5000 registered here. Given, IMHOP, that we as caretakers of this planet need to do something ourselves about pollution, greenhouse gases etc etc...this is about the best place to start on a personal level. Forget the politicians...cause it's just that: Politics, again, imhop.
What little I have learned here, I believe, will stand me well in the future....When the kids are gone and off to school etc. The plan is to hopefully live off grid or at least grid tie by using all three of the available resources: wind, solar and if at all possible a neat little micro hydro set-up. I suppose that is probably and arguably Nirvana to most..but I'm a gonna try to make it happen...that's the fun part.
I've built a small 5' mill & a 40W panel just to see if I could do it and as something to occupy my hands / mind in the long cold months of winter. I couldn't have done it without this site. And yea...these magnets can really hurt - I know by personal experience..!! Kewl stuff though..keep it coming cause I'm watching/reading and learning.
A great thank you to all that contribute.
FYI: As a Tech Sales Rep in S. Ab for ESAB (Welding-Cutting-Automation), I meet a lot of people...when we talk small scale windpower or alternate energy, I always inform them of this site.
