Admittedly I mostly read the board, seldom post, but I don't really care for the new board. I'm sorry to say that, since I know someone must have put in a lot of work.  With the old board I can just click on my bookmark, receive the list, use my scroll bar to quickly scan them to see what's new. No mess, no fuss, quick.  IMHO the new board is much more "cnn.com" like and would probably be good for a commercial site where an objective is that the user read more of each page to find what they are looking for. Don't get me wrong, I don't at all think that is what you intend. I enjoy the whole otherpower.com site and really appreciate the work you people do.  I just don't think the new board is a good fit for threaded discussions in what is after all a fairly narrow and technically oriented forum.

I know you probably spent a long time setting up this board, and had good intentions, but to tell you the truth I hate it! I didn't particularly care for the old board either, but this is much worse. I spend alot of time on different forums, most of them use either vbulletin, or Yabbse, which is free. (http://www.yabbse.org/) I think you should consider using one of those...very easy to use. You have to think about that alot of the people that use this and the old forum are most definatley not computer geeks, like me, and really have alot of trouble with this new forum.

I like all the features of the new board. But I like the way the old board looked. If the intro text was scrapped and they made a nice big red "NEW!" appear next to the new messages I would prefer this board!

I agree that this new board is more confusing

than the old.  

But I like the new features.

I have got a quite experienced background

with the computers,

have built a system like this for an university, too

to develop their teaching methods.  

a)

I think that if there would be the feature that all the

NEW posts would be seen

with a RED color as on the

old board on the Front Page, then the very best feature

of the old board would be here as well.

b)

Maybe there could be as well a feature

that there would be a page,

where all the latests posts, comments, too;

would be after each other?

All the new hotlist features,

possibilities to load on pictures on

the server and so on are really good in my opinion.

After getting accustomed to this new board,

if the features

a) and b) could be somehow included,  

I think that this board would be quite perfect.
