Board Accessing Difficulties
« on: October 05, 2004, 06:47:24 PM »
I noticed some people are having problems accessing the board. I just wanted to say that I've been having the same problem when I try to access from my computer at work (broadband), but do not have any problem at all at night when I use my home computer (dial-up). Strangely enough...I'm from Canada too.

I've burnt the cache and cookies.

Any suggestions? Sorry for digressing, but I like my fix at work too.

Lol... keep on plugging guys ;-).

hmm sometimes employers have there i.t. departments block message boards and sutch. they have this funny idea that they are paying for your time and you should be using that time to do your job. were they get these funny ideas i don't know...:) but if you are using a networked puter to come here from work that is probably what has happened...

Obviously commie B@$T@&D$!!  I just got a free download of a program called Ad-Aware SE and it sped my surfing up a lot.  I had 347 adware bugs on my 'puter!

Just after that post I now can't get on with that login so now I'm windcadet!  wierd.  I'll try LEXX later but when I tried to get on it it said that my login was incorrect, is this what happens to other people?

Wild,

your problem was the same that I had a few times before dating back some months and I was back and forth a bit with management and Mister Danb and Mister DanF were there helping. Now it seems to be ok though for a few weeks.

Thanks,

Hey, have a fun day man !

Harry.

As far as we can tell, there's no unusual computer behavior coming from the server end of things here in Colorado. The more people that are using the board at once, the slower it is, and the monthly Google crawl takes up some bandwidth too. "Systems are working within normal operating parameters," as the computer on the Enterprise would say.

We always wonder when things get slow, too, and most of the time it ends up being an internet problem....a slowdown at a local (or distant) hub on the internet backbone, a router gone down in Denver, etc.

Keep letting us know when things look screwy, though -- sometimes it is on our end.

The northwest has periodic TIER2 DNS failures.  This causes extremely slow connections to servers in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.  Try hitting the IP address of the server instead of the URL.  Here it is:   http://198.49.126.34.

For what ever the reason, I am having to click twice on the same link, for example I would have to click "front page", then nothing happens, then click it again, works..

Any ideas?

Thanks
