Trouble with photo images on posts

       Hi Guys,

     Sent an email to the Admin, but as i know they have LOTS to do, maybe one of you  out there, can help me solve my problem !!!??

    When I write an article and try to insert an image -- I just get the "address" and no image ...

    The pictures are in my files on this board, but won,t come up on my posts..

    The last post, I believe Ed got them to come up, said my browser had put some garbage in  -- as I,m not real good with computers -- I,m lost !!

    Anyone know how I can fix this problem    Thanks ,Bill H   (lost, just north of Seattle !!)

  when you post pics...just below the comment box

is User Files....

Select file

Insert Image

   so you press enter after your last comment go down to select file click on one of your files,

click on insert image...go up to preview image and your image should appear in the preview

(always preview before posting)

          Hope this helps ...if not, post exactly

the steps you go thru and maybe someone can help you.

Don't know what a did wrong but I posted a explanation and some examples just before Norm did.

Howdy XRay. It wasn't us, or our moderators and editors -- we have no record of your comments (I show your last one on 7/26/05). Are you sure spellcheck or preview are not checked? That would put you in perpetual preview mode -- your comment posts only after you un-check those, and when it succeeds you get a 'thanks for your posting' sort of message.

Little known fact -- because of the slashdot / kuro5hin style of this software, us admins, editors and moderators can't change or remove any comments or replies. We can only edit stories, move them, or set them to not display....We can lock down future comment and replies, but can't change any that are already there.

Check your user prefs and comment prefs to be sure you aren't forcing spellcheck each time -- if you do that, you'll have to uncheck that spellcheck box with every post.

I am really sure I hit the post button and I also refreshed the post a few times after posting it  to see if someone posted an reaction.

But after some hours my reply was gone, just gone. So I figured ADMIN must have had a reason to delete my reply.

But you did not, hummm? One ting a did just before my reply vanished, I logged out.

     If you scroll down on that post of July 2nd, you will read where you and "Commanda", did some magic to make the pics come up !!

     I sure hope you can help -- But please keep in mind, I,m computer ignorant,,So, it could be something I have or haven,t done!!

     I did one before that, and it worked fine !!???

       Hi Norm,

      Just tried to post a new story last night useing pics -- WG 1 - 2 and 3, but i didn,t preview -- just saw the address come up -- maybe it is working and I was expecting to see pics !!??

     I,ll try again now, and try "preview"...

    I have been just going to the box that says, insert photos, using the drop down box, select the pik and hit insert !!

     Glad you liked my stuff -- I have a lot more tucked away, but sence I retired, I,ve been to busy to work on much   ---- How did I ever have time to work

     Anyway, I,m going to try again, and thanks, Bill H......

        OK, I managed to get the posting job done --AND, I owe Admin an apology, as it wasen,t anything, except a DUMB guy -- trying to manipulate an electronic wonder..

       And thanks to Norm, for his suggestions, I found my way out of the dark --(ages)

       I was looking for my photos to show on my "draft" for the post -- not realizing they would when it was actually posted or you activate, "Preview"..

      OK, I,m old and dumb --- but at least, I can still learn -- I,m much better, with mechanics and machining than I am with electronics !!!
