Can't post comments - at least to Newbies
« on: November 02, 2009, 06:37:55 AM »
I have not tried posting comments to the other sections in a while but recently I cannot post comments to the Newbie section. My post will not review before posting either, just sits there.  Dave B.

Hi Dave ~

Strange, two such mentions of this just recently, seems to be fine for me (at the moment).

I've tried to drop you email about a different topic but your registered email here is not working.  Could you send me one so I can reply?  thanks!

If I ever figure out what's in the box then maybe I can think outside of it.

i have run into that before just open a new tab go find something else to look at for half an hour come back to that page click post again it will probably toss an error about double posting tell it to post anyway and it will post usually anyway that is what i do anyway. what is happening is the board is taking a siesta wile you are composing your comment and then does not work when you click post. usually clears up withing half an hour and your post will go through. that is what i have found anyway.

interesting...

It almost seems (at the moment) like it works fine for me with Firefox (which is what I normally use).  'Old' Mozilla wont work though.  I'll have to test this a few times to see if its an intermittent thing or not.

Its a IE thing, works ok in Firefox. I've had to post using Firefox for a couple of days.

Its a weird one, there's no java in the page thats causing the bug that I can see, but the address in the form post tag is not right I think...

ACTION="comments/2009/11/2/63755/8969post#here"

the double "
/" before "post" could be triggering a security flag in IE, stopping the form posting.

Just a guess.

OK, Scoope realy stuffed up the formatting of that post. Dont matter, there was a double back slash before the word post, and it could be thowing off IE.
