I have a daily practice of reading this forum and

find a lot of knowledge being shared by members.

I would like to explore some of your own sites.

How do I find them? Fiddlehead from Eastern Canada.

Hi,

Here you can find some details about a wind generator built using an Ametek 30 and an anemometer + USB datalogger. The logger can log the wind speed or the RPM of the generator...or both...

Unfortunately, I don't know anybody else in Canada. It would be cool to build a map with the locations of the guys frequenting this web site (not the exact address, but the approximate location). This way we can see if we have any neighbours with the same hobbies as ours, and why not meeting the other guys ... having a kind of "Dan's monday" once in a while...

I'm in Toronto.

I'm near Sarnia Ontario , closer to Dresden , the other day I went through a little place called Nile near dungannon & I seen a little windmill on a small post , I think I seen a picture of it here before.

Funny how you start looking for windmills when your out & about after getting hooked.

Zubbly I got a few ac motors saved up for conversions so if your interested

in giving a fellow Ontarian some help/advise my email is

devinh@xcelco.on.ca

My daughter(14) has been playing with a web page for me for fun. When I get her to tell me the addy I'll post it here for you , it has some pics of my wind mills & Snowmobiles & stuff

Yea, a map of USA and Canada with user names marked in there general area would be nice.

I visited Pickster up in Canada this summer. Would have been nice to know where you other guys were if we could have got together. I also got to meet Ghurd on my trip.

Wish I could have met Zubbly also, perhaps that was not to far from the route I traveled up and back. I was close to Ontario/Quebeck (sorry for the spelling) border in areas, and I passed right beside Toronto too.

It was a great trip of course but I bet I passed within 50 miles of people here I'd like to have met on the way and never knew it.

Planning more trips soon :)

There seems to be quite a few RE'ers in Canada.  My wife's family is from SE Ontario, near the Rideau Canal system.  We own some property with a cottage on White Fish lake.  It would be great to get together with everyone one day.  We spend a lot of time up there during the summer months.

I'm thinking more of a full world map.

I travel to Brussels twice a year and it would be nice to take the Metro around to see some of the RE's in Europe as well.

Some of the countires are way ahead in wind power farms.

It's great to see so many replies and fellow Canadians that responded.

You have brainstormed an excellent idea about the map with RE locations.

A green dot could be us small fries. A blue dot could be a comercial site

And a Blue dot could be the interested, potential beginners. When you

Click on the dot, it would give the required info. A challange to you

computer guys.  Fiddlehead44.

For a free, nifty little map(and soooo much more) program have a look at http://www.googleearth.com  Awesome program, you'll likely spend a few hours cruising the planet!

I think that the world map would be great. We could have a link from

this site that would bring up an alphabetical listing for all participating

countries. You would click on the one that you're interested in and

bring up a full screen map. At this point, you could view all the

locations that have been submitted (or) choose to enter your own. As

privacy is an issue for some, you could fill out the form with your

site, name, town or any info that you want. Some would perfer only

their general location and that would be fine. As a revinue source

for this web page, you could also have some fee structure for Comercial

sites. This would be a piece of cake for computer guru's, I'm sure...
