ED1, I would welcome a separate area for vawt.  The vawt people have chosen this design for their own reasons (i.e. skills, site requirements, site limitations, etc.).  There is very little available for vawt, while much available for hawt.  You have my vote.

Maybe I'm a bit simplistic but it seems to me the way it is works just fine.  Being a VAWT enthusist myself when ever someone posts "VAWT" I zoom in on it right away and the extra designation really isn't needed.  I plan on dusting off the old "Lenz" turbine and bring it out for some real world testing this summer as well as a couple new ideas to add to it.  As well, a number of other projects in the works that need to be completed... I expect a busy summer this year!

More fun than I know what to do with...

Mr Lenz:

Your web-site and "Lenz Turbine" have provided much of the inspiration for my thinking and research.  The vawt is not a dead concept and your research has shown me that.  Please keep posting and experimenting.  Also, I found your post on creative thinking outside the box to be great.

Best regards,

A seperate area might organize the information a bit neater but I don't think it is really necessary. Google will find vawt where ever it is. Funny you should mention this right now. I was just getting ready to post a couple photos of my latest project ;)

I started a diary for anyone interested in VAWT postings (acutally Elecrondady's idea).

Seems to be a lot of interest.  Looking forward to sharing ideas.
