Very good debate/commentary on that page.

Here's a snippet from my favorite comment

"We can produce huge amounts of hydrogen via nuclear and we have excess amounts of coal. Can these two be combined to produce a cleaner burning liquid fuel?

Also, it appears that "teleportation" is actually possible. What about producing energy off the planet and teleporting in back as electricity?"

- Stan Adamson

He kinda seems to be a future over-unity activist. Ya think?

But seriously there is some good reading there.

Thanks for posting it jomoco

Beam me up Scotty, Then beam back down a few million kw's.

The fact is at this point in our technology teleportation is not posible, But they are working on it. in theory it is posible, but not now.

We have the technology today to beam energy to the planet using microwaves.  The issue, of course, is cost.  It might, however, be cost effective for NASA to use space based power generation and microwaves to speed ion powered rockets to Mars and beyond.

Actually, NASA is looking into the issue of space based power generation.  They figure 7% overall efficiency today.  Not high, but the sun light is free.
