Much to my dismay I discovered that the $1

pedometers may have a serious flaw.....after

trying one out I found that they can't count fast

they wouldn't be very good at counting anything

over about 120...maybe 150rpm...so would probably

be only good for counting on a coil winder...

unless you were winding very fast.

So I guess you get what you pay for after all.

Sorry if I gave anyone a bum steer.

          Fell bad about this!

If you want to get adventurous, try opening one up. There may be a signal conditioning circuit on the input. Fiddling with the values ( like making the capacitor a smaller value) may solve this problem, on the other hand if it's all under a blob of epoxy, your doofed.

Well there are 3 little squares that say

C1,C2,C3...then one on top of all three that

says C4 ...but they're like part of the printed

circuit...I would have to do almost micro-surgery...you'd have to replace one of them with

one of greater value or less? or eliminate it

altogether?

Think I'll pass on this one and go finish my windmill and use the handheld anemometer for

windspeeds over 6mph and a little Savonius on a

threaded rod for speeds under 6mph.

Thanks for the help Dr.D !!

                Well nothing ventured....

                Still Fun.....

Whew what a relief...I was afraid it might be

something simple to fix I wouldn't even be able

to replace the lettering. I got a feeling that

maybe even the calculators that I put wires on

the equal button might be limited to around

1000rpm...maybe...maybe not.

Well at least I got a little more done on the

plastic windmill and tried it out before it

started to rain...now to balance it and hook it

up to something!

                   Fun!   Thanks!
