How to get on IRC

Just thought I'd post instructions on how to get onto the otherpower IRC chat. It is explained over at http://otherpower.com/opchat.html but heres a bit more detail.

You'll need a client to connect to the IRC, for windows a good one is mIRC , I think it was kurt (?) that did some good step by step instructions on how to use it here . If you do have a firewall then this might block you from using it, in the firewall settings there should be an option to enable IRC.

If you have Firefox or Mozilla there is an add-on called Chatzilla which you can download, then you can click here which should connect you.

If this is making trouble and you cant connect, then there is a web based client at http://www.ircatwork.com/

It is slower and sometimes doesnt work, but it can be used.

To connect, simply type your chosen nickname into the nickname box, type irc.otherpower.com into the server box and #otherpower into the channel box.

It might take a while to load so be patient...

We should be pretty friendly but there might not be people around at the time

Kurt does a good job too but when I hear clients

and servers and firewalls I panic.
