Spring has arrived
« on: February 13, 2007, 08:01:02 AM »
Just thought I would announce that Spring has arrived in Hong Kong.

New buds are appearing on the trees, the blossom buds on my mango tree are starting to form and the weather is a treat. T shirts and shorts almost everyday since the beginning of January until now.Orchids and similar flowers are all coming into bloom.

We missed Winter and went straight from last Autumn to this Spring.

Those in Canada and the far North, hang on,it's on the way.

May I be the first to stick my tongue out at you and blow a raspberry?  :)

David;

Glad to hear it, really, but with a foot plus of fresh snow on the ground and below freezing weather yet I have to say "yeah sure".

But it is good to know that on the other side of the planet it looks like spring.

Cheers.

Spring arrives here on June 21st.  Well, that's a slight exaggeration, but I've seen snow linger into May and ice along the cliffs of Lake Superior into the first part of June.  Hopefully, the damn stuff will be gone by mid April.

Doc:

I'm 1.5 hours from Redfield, and they are currently at 141 inches....unreal!  :-)

Lake effect is very strange, you literally can be in a full whiteout, walk 100 feet and then be in shunshine....it's weird to experience a lake effect snow band.

Were supposed to see a couple more feet here tomorrow as well.

Lucky you.  After sweeping the snow off of my panels yesterday, they just got buried under another 6 or 8 inches of snow today, and the stuff is still blowing sideways outside right now in Chicago.  Rich

Mid summer down under. 2 weeks ago we had a "Rain Event" on north east coast, lasted several days, constant rain. On average over 300mm of rain per day in my area, thats over 11 inches. One place recorded 480 ( 19 inches ) over night!

This week the sun is out, but its hot and humid, about 34C with a 95% humidity. If you walk from the air conditioning to outside your glasses fog up.

Give me some snow anyday  :)
