hi,all, there is a thread going on over at homemade energy on yahoo groups about using halbach arrays with axial flux alternators. i know it wouldnt be economical or worth the hassle but was wondering how they might work. seems to be a debate about the flux concentration, and if it would be an improvement on the normal way we do things. had a look on wiki and the board but cant find a definative answer. anyone got any thoughts on this? this is a theoretical puzzle, not interested in building one.cant see it being worth the extra cost or hassle unless there is a REALLY big improvement in the flux density. all comments welcome. thats why i put it in rants and opinion so please feel free to rant.
