UK Maplin Stores

Is there anyone on this forum who lives near a Maplin electronics store in the UK?

They stock a reflective sensor - SY-CR102 - which I need for use with an RPM unit I have built for my wind turbine testing. Each sensor costs around 79p. I would like to purchase 4 pieces, and take delivery by airmail.

If anyone can help me out I can pay by cheque on Barclays Bank and you can include a sum for your time and travelling, postage etc,  and a couple of pints in the local pub.

I tried ordering direct from the web site and found it so laborious, difficult (fill this out, fill that out, subscribe, etc) that it seems better to try this approach and keep my sanity.

I live in the US. Maplin takes phone orders. Phone in the order, mail them a cheque and when it clears they will post to you the item. If you order more than £35, then shipping is free. Maybe look around for something else you need for the holidays and order all at once.

They have some neat stuff, like USB turntables.

I can help you out, my nearest Maplin is about 2 miles away... they're only showing 1 in stock tho.

Have you tried RS Components (http://uk.rs-online.com/web/) for a similar part?
