Ametek Crazy
« on: December 30, 2008, 05:26:35 PM »
Time to sell off the spare Ameteks?

An Ametek 38 with hub sold for $200 with shipping.

He sold TWO for that price, and could have sold 3.

Maybe it was the free "big blocking diode"?

Claimed output of 450W!

eBay should ban some of those guys.

Item # 250346809420

Yikes!

They have went nuts on Ebay sence Surplus Center is out of the Ametek 38. I was going to get one and make a small water Hydro source below the lake. ( 1 amp maybe )Now I will have to find something else to use. I really fill for the people that fall for that 450 watt thing.

That's quite interesting... If your charging a 36 volt battery bank at the full rated output of 12 amps then you would be making 450 watts of power.  Not likey it would every happen that way so its really not a flat out lie just decieving at the customer's level.  But hey, isn't that what marketing is all about... the product is actually secondary to profit.  Their the greedy immoral idiots that want to control our lives.

Some of us still stand by moral standards, what this country was made from and why it was so great through out the years... well, until now anyway....

Just check out this madness on sale on eBay.com, one claim:

"Mounting the alternator at a small upward angle makes a great difference in efficiency and more energy production" - What??

Perhaps they should ban ebay, it would force people to come back to common sense, which the present generation seems to lack at times.

I bought 60 1x2x.5 n42 neos for less than that.I think these are sold to people that are a bit lazy and try to find the easy way out no matter what the cost. However, they miss out on alot of the fun :)

 Just my thoughts.

I put a small (and it was small) 100W 240V PM motor on ebay last year. I made it perfectly clear that it wouldn't make more than 5Watts at best. It still got bid up to about £80 ($160 ?) . Was worth £20 at best. Felt guilty selling it at that price, but I suppose if they bid it up that's their decision.
