Hello Ya'll
Glad to see when I logged in so many names of so many friends in those front page posts. Glad your all still here!
Well I had some problems ranging from family and health and odds N ends for awhile but I'm over most of that now (I think)and should be back in full swing with many of my projects both normal and odd, old and new.
I'm not online much right now, hadn't even been checking my e-mails much for awhile. Thanks to those I see now have wrote and asked where am I at.
I'll be sending out some e-mails soon, still not online or doing much still but I am getting started back up again.
Just to bring everyone up to date and answers few questions all at once in one place.
I think I got a dose of aluminum oxides somehow when sand blasting as part of the health problems. When I was doing that I was getting migrains often and could seldom stand to be near a computer at all. That is about when I left the forum I think last year, though I popped in and read stuff when I could for awhile. Yes I wore protection when blasting, but it seems even just opening the blast cabinet days after blasting and smelling the oxides would trigger a migrain. Took awhile to figure this out and get over it, so random at times could not decide what was doing it. Of course I have not been blasting anymore!
Family problems was typical marriage on the rocks stuff.
As many of you know I was planning next year to be my last year here at this place, and that's why I stopped several of my big projects over a year a ago.
WELL, my best friend locally had moved away about 4-5 years ago and we lost contact, we found each other again now recently. Last people to live on a property he owns near me really tore it up and left a major mess. I just got a long term lease on it! Great deal for both of us!
It will take a few months to make it livable I think but I'll have an auto shop with lift and grease pit, house, big store room for a shop (was once a store) and another large building plus the lower rear level of the auto shop which is like a barn itself. I should be able to build many projects here of any type once set up to work.
I have no power there right now, (no phone or internet either) and although I would like to keep it that way ( no power grid )like I did with the rock house a few years ago, I'm afraid with the large shop areas and big tools I'll have to have power turned on before long.
Currantly I am working on an alarm system which will be powered by Bruce S battery packs. I'll be using a trick he told me with the HF solar controller (old style) to keep the alarm packs charged.
Already found a good spot for the solar panels (and a couple wind gennies)!
I have to do roof repairs before installing them though.
Anyway just letting people know I am still here sometimes and I'll be doing stuff again soon.
Many thanks to everyone for all the help over the years, I not forgot any of you!
Rich I've been getting allot of use from the solar panel.
Ghurd I been using the leds, solar charge controllers, 12V CFLs ect... allot.
Bruce packs, wow I have got so much use from those for so many things, and other stuff too Thanks
The first gennies I fly over there will be Jerry garbogen types and Zubbly type small motor conversions.
Thanks to everyone for all the info and help over the years. I really missed the forum and friends while I not been here and looking forward to getting back once I get things rolling here and have Internet at the new place.
