Cooler panels "run" better?
« on: September 03, 2005, 02:35:26 AM »
I don't claim to be an expert by any means, but maybe this will work.

I have read here and on other websites, that a solar panel produces more power at a cooler temperature. Would it be feasible to have water running down the panels, or a drip-mist system? I'm not advocating wasting water. I have a decent water supply from a creek, but my sun time is limited.

If water is used, will it hinder the sun's effect more than help it? (in the same way that unfiltered water "hurts" a UV filter)

Maybe this is too simple an idea, but if it might work I'd like to try it.
