Barbie Jeep revisited

ok here is a picture of the finished jeep now she has about a hour of ride time a day from the sun. we will see how it works out but she loves it so far

Great looking project.  Bet it saves a lot of hassle charging it. You don't have to go drag it to the charger and all.  It just charges wherever it is.


Also teach a little energy economics too :)

  I hope this catches on, halfcrazy.

  I can see a dozen or so built-in science projects there.  Tracking, optimum parking slope...Too much fun!

  It'd be neat to hear kids begging Santa for PV parts.

I wish I had one of these, I would make an awesome robot platform, with a bit of power under the hood, and there plenty of room for another solar panel (or three) to make I completely autonomous. It looks great good work.

Don't bother adding more panels.


Make 4 cardboard panels the same size as the PV box. Cover one side of each panel with foil and hinge them to the 4 sides of the PV box.


For charging, unfold so that they all stand at a 45 degree angle. This will multiply your PV output without adding much weight or expense.

   This is a good idea and seems to provide more amps during peak solar times and I thought this extra heat would effect the panels but they cookin and crankin.
