Testing the 2N3055 with a Lense
« Reply #33 on: August 24, 2011, 11:29:28 PM »
Hi Guy's,
Well after reading some earlier posts in this thread where some wanker said he could get a couple of hundred watts out of a 2N3055 I just had to have a go and see for myself what a 2N3055 with the top cut off can really do.

This pic shows the open circuit Voltage

This pic shows the current

As shown I used a lense and put the focal point as small as I could on the small PV cell, so where is those couple of hundred watts this wanker claimed eh.

Cheers Bryan

Ruddy is a well seasoned poster here.
Please read up and understand that this post was an exercise in stepping out of the normal routines.
Try the tests you may be surprised and what you'll be able to do with stuff just laying around.

ruddy are you sure those are 6.amps?

by any chance this 6amps can be clubbed with regular solar panel which produces 12Vdc?

just greedy thought popped up,
endless hurdles.
