Panels up and running
« on: February 11, 2007, 07:42:01 PM »
 Hi Guys,

It finally warmed up enough for me to brave the elements and get 2 of my 3 panels mounted and wire run into the house. They're a little crooked, and I have no idea what angle they're at, but it's good enough for now. They're facing south, that much I'm sure of! :)

Here's some pics:

I have ordered a 12v 13w cfl outdoor fixture that I'm going to mount outside and run from the load timer on the charge controller. I still have to build a frame for the remaining panel and get it mounted, and then figure out how much power I can harvest reliably, and how many security lights I can run.

Finally, I have 5 panels that are defective that I'd like to try and sell. They may be fixable, but I'm really not interested in trying to fix them. There's a description and pics of them here:

If anyone here is interested, shoot me an email to flybri at neo dot rr dot com. If not, I will probably try to sell them on EBay. I'm thinking of asking $1 per watt, and I'm assuming they're 50w panels. I have no idea what it will cost to ship them.

Cheers!
