Seeking Info on Poulek soft concentrator design
« on: April 24, 2007, 09:06:59 PM »
Hello all,

Can someone (SomoaPower?) give me some design information on the Poulek style solar concentrator?  See http://www.fieldlines.com/story/2007/3/21/9507/14728 for an example.

Specifically, how do you size the reflector area and choose the angle of tilt for the reflectors?  I can't find this information anywhere at all including here on Fieldlines.

Thanks!

For a minimal area concentrator, the ridge apex angle = 60 degrees and a = b = c.

This yields a concentration ratio of <1.5.

Other configurations are possible.
