solar panel building

hello folks, i have a question about solar panel construction.i purchased a lot of solar cells and i wonder what voltage to make the panels.I will include the ebay item # for the cells.what size/ voltage do you think?(315) item# 300210053881

According to the ebay listing they are 5v and .25 watts.


If you want a 12volt system, then four in series to make 20v open circuit nominal would be suggested. You would need parallel sets on the panel to give the wattage you want.


Those are small, but efficient cells. What do you plan to power?

I plan on using the panels to charge a battery set.I have a large inverter and the set up will be used for powering a few items during power outages.I live in upstate new york and winter power outages can be a problem.I want to build my own panels but I am not sure what physical size to cut my backing to start construction.I am using 1"square tube and aluminium sheet material with a plexy cover.
