Well done!

I can remember that feeling from when I put the first of the solar/wind powered LED lights into the kitchen.  Mrs Slog is delighted with them and shows them off to anyone who visits.

Keep up the good work.

FYI - I used three car headlights for the job. They put a focussed beam on my lathe, the chop saw and the area where I carve my violins.  I have enough power coming in from the panels to recharge the battery bank almost as fast as it used the power. Or maybe the panels are running the lights. Anyway, It works.

NAG

About twenty years ago I would buy LEDs for pennies. Now they want fifty bucks for an LED tail light.

Basically, there are LEDs and there are LEDs.

The LEDs which are producing the efficiencies approaching fluorescent Watt/Lumens are sought after and not generally available through normal retail circumstances and do command a premium price. Not suggesting that even the truck LED lights are those but that gives you an idea of the different level of efficiency and quality of LEDs.
