Help with pump storage system
« on: June 27, 2005, 02:02:32 AM »
Hi!  I am planning out a pumped storage system and have one final component I need to find...

I am going to need a water pump that can pump a large volume of water (20-50gpm)to a head of at least 200ft. It can be electric, belt driven, steam, pnumatic etc... Efficiency is a serious factor here and the more gpm the better.

I was thinking about air lift pumps because they have no moving parts and don't have to be primed. However the efficiency of the air compressor is important with these and most air copressers are not worried about how much electricty they consume.

BTW, this is a pumped storage system pumping from a lower pond to an upper pond.
