homemade machine for HDPE welding
« on: June 27, 2005, 08:06:05 AM »
Hello to all,

I'm in the process of installing liner in my lake, the liner in question is HDPE of 1.5 mm of thick.

I'm having a lot of trouble connecting the sheets of liner one to another and I know the best way of doing it is to weld it by eat action, but a wlding machine for HDPE is very expensive. I'd like to know if anyone knows of a better way to do it or if anyone as any idea of how to build a homemade machine for the effect.

Thank you all and pardon my English, but I'm Portuguese

I've experience success in using an electric iron to join sheets of plastic. You'll have to experiment with this, using different heat settings and maybe foil or something to prevent sticking.

May I ask what the lake liner is for?
