Today I read an article on homepower.com involving how to build your own simple solar water heater. The main question I have is can I use different types of pipe to help reduce the cost? Schedule 40 pvc is a lot easier to get in the four inch size than copper. It also cost less. Has any body done any experimenting in this realm.
