i have made a vawt like ropatec from 1.5m long and 1 m high.

with 20km/h wind it turns about 60 tr/min but has no power.


i have a video clip from it.can some one post this for me?


And can some one tell me what i doing wrong?

By Bernoulli's Theorem, 1.5 square metres of air flowing at 20km/h can do a maximum amount of work of 342w (speed cubed times density times area).  But a VAWT is unlikely to recover more than 15% of that, so you might get 50w if you are lucky.

Hi belgium2,


Not so long ago, i found out i was building a Ropatec windmill:









Totally by accident  it turned out to be a Ropatec windmill. It starts to turn in low wind, 1 or 2m/s it's just 75x55x50cm. Also added an vcr motor to load it. Time is my biggest problem, progress is slow.
