Chillzilla - beer wort chiller as a hot water heat exchanger
« on: September 11, 2006, 09:00:21 PM »
I came across this rather nicely thought out heat exchanger. It is called a Chillzilla and is intended for home beer making. It is made of a convoluted copper pipe inside another copper pipe and has a total length of 12 feet.

Has anyone tried this? Any pros or cons appreciated.

I did try it, it worked, but I don't recall what I tried it for.

Maybe I'm getting old?

But it was very easy and cheap to make.

Looks a lot like a WVO heater.  More so if the filter was in the center.

Hey Ghurd,

I think maybee it might have made a great beer chiller for you. I do suppose that could be the reason you can't remember much about it.

Booze-wise, I expect "worm" is related to revenuers, instead of tequilla...
