winding armature coil

Dear Sir I rewind an armature 3 times more coil of a car alternator but still there was no low rpm output.Did I increase volts by doing this and do harm to the regulator?

I have to wind the stator to give me low rpm instead?

Can I leave the windings of the armature as it is now?
