Induction generator coupled with fixed blades

Sure it would be easy to build but it seems to me that once the turbine and gearbox got things up to speed,wouldnt the blades slow down and shut things down?Has any one tested this on a fixed blade turbine?Just need to get these out of my head.

A bit of time on a search engine would take one to the NERL site and their research on this matter. It could lead to other places.
