VAWT idea
« on: February 20, 2006, 04:15:36 AM »
just a quick idea, I believe it has been mentioned once before but would it be feasable or advisable to link numerous small VAWT's similar to little erma or perhaps some 1 or 2 foot tall lenz turbines together in series, leave it as wild AC current and put your bridge rectifiers next to charge controller at the end of the string.  Instead of string lights could have string VAWT's.  Could line a fence.  Anyway like I said I believe someone else has mentioned this before its not my idea hehehehehe just wondered about its potential problems and benefits.  It would seem to me that this would have the net effect of a much larger surface area wind turbine.

I believe Ed (windstuffnow) commented on the

feasibility of one tall VAWT laying on it's side

...which would make it a HVAWT...

at the top of a fence or the top of a shed roof.

                     ( :>) Norm.

It's there somewhere in Windstuffnow's user info
